As a young organization, we are still in the Foundational Phase of our delivery approach. At present, we have no open paid positions, and our team contributes to AI4Afghanistan’s work on a voluntary basis. As we grow and develop the capacity to expand our work, we will continue to publish both volunteer and paid positions on this page. Position: Communications Manager

Engagement: Volunteer, unpaid

Location: Hamburg, Germany

We’re looking for a dedicated and creative individual to coordinate our communications, outreach and public engagement. The role includes developing communications plans, managing our communication channels, creating and publishing content, connecting people with our work, and keeping our public information up to date and accurate. You will help maintain AI4Afghanistan’s consistent voice and visual identity across its public channels, protect privacy and confidentiality, follow safeguarding procedures, and ensure that sensitive communications are reviewed by the designated person before publication or response.
Relevant experience in communications, public engagement or content creation, strong writing, editing and fact-checking skills, and confidence managing social media channels are important. Website design and digital marketing skills are additional strengths.
Language skills in English, German, Farsi/Dari and Pashto are valued, alongside awareness of different cultural contexts and the ability to communicate clearly with Afghan diaspora, German and international audiences.
